Memorial stone

Project

Case Multatuli - Creating a memorial stone for Multatuli's year.

Client

Studio Berry Slok - Jeroen Hennemans

Scope

Creating a memorial stone for the new church in Amsterdam.

Materials and technology

Natural stone, gemstone.

Challenge

Technically a difficult project in a short time frame.

Why Sizo

This project was completed with several companies/people; Studio Berry Slok, Jeroen Henneman, Gouda Natuursteen and SIZO.

The story

200 years ago, Eduard Douwes Dekker - or Multatuli, for short - was born in Amsterdam. The writer has his own year for that reason, which was ushered in by none other than King Willem Alexander.

The implementation

Commissioned by Studio Berry Slok, the SIZO had the opportunity to develop and deliver this beautiful work of art by Jeroen Henneman. The production came about in part thanks to Gouda Natuursteen. On Monday, February 17, King Willem Alexander officially opened the Multatuli Year in the Nieuwe Kerk in Amsterdam. Where, together with two children, he unveiled the stone to the general public. You can imagine why this was a special project for us.

SIZO aftercare

Should something not work due to a malfunction, power supply or other teething problems. We are always ready to jump in as soon as possible to solve the problem. The work we deliver must be perfect at all times, the customer is truly king to us. And such a great idea should have no flaws. For a case like this one from Tony Chocolonely, so we are happy to step up.
