25 years of SIZO

In 1995 SIZO founded by Sidney Zee, behind his father's greenhouses in Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel. Here he began working on his first jobs himself as a mechanic in a shed. Soon a mechanic and an intern for the design department joined. From this it grew rapidly, one of the first customers being; Mega Elshout - which was later bought up by MediaMarkt. That to this day is still a customer with us and we are very proud of that. Some of the employees who witnessed the beginning are still there. Hans - one of the first mechanics - is now retired, but visits regularly for a nice cup of coffee. We also have Rutger, he experienced the first branch of SIZO as an intern in the design department. After a short absence, he returned as a graphic designer/DTP-er. In the field service we have Jan, Jan has been with the company for 20 years since 2019. Quite an achievement.

Old faces return

Several years ago, Sidney Zee - the founder of SIZO (Sidney and Sons) - retired from the company, to put his full focus on his other venture; L2L LEDscreens. But in late 2019, he returned to the old familiar nest, to take up the baton again with his companions. Thus, SIZO enters into a special and close cooperation with L2L LEDscreens. That specializes in LED screens in all shapes and sizes. A match made in heaven. Because here the traditional way of sign meets the future of LED advertising.

Relocation

In 2012, SIZO moved from Nieuwerkerk aan den IJssel to Capelle aan den IJssel. The building on Vlierbaan has more capacity and since the number of employees grew rapidly, it was more than necessary. The building houses a printing and milling department, a workshop, the atelier, a warehouse, a canteen, office space and two showrooms/meeting rooms. A total of 40 employees now work for the company. Previously, there were no showrooms within the company. Since 2020, the studio and project management departments have moved upstairs to allow for a showroom on the second floor. In the two rooms, LED screens and sign displays are displayed to customers, in addition, one of the rooms serves as a meeting room.

Unique collaboration

As of today, SIZO has partnered with L2L LEDscreens, a unique partnership. Namely, this means that we have everything in the field of signage under one roof. From car stickers to digital signage.
