Pallieter Foundation

Pallieter Foundation was founded in 2000 by Rein Lander. The name "Pallieter" was taken from a book by Felix Timmermans about Pallieter. A true bon vivant. One can also 'pallieter', carefree and exuberantly enjoying walking around in nature. Isn't this the quiet wish of everyone?

The Pallieter Foundation is committed - exclusively with volunteers - to improving the quality of life of seriously, incurably or chronically ill children and children with disabilities. We are committed to the well-being of the child (without losing sight of the family) and go for the 'extras' which cannot be paid for from the regular (care) budget. Our slogan is not for nothing 'Pallieter, close to the family and the sick child'.

We are capable of many things

A small foundation but through connection and cooperation, we are capable of much. Our biggest project was the realization of children's hospice Pallieterburght in Capelle aan den IJssel. Which is now completely independent and autonomous and has a different name: De Groene Burcht. We also work together with Villa Pardoes, a fairy-tale vacation resort for families with a seriously ill child, and with Stichting Kruimeltje, a friendly foundation from Rotterdam which - like Pallieter - devotes itself to these vulnerable children and young people. Rein came up with the name Kruimeltje for the foundation, thinking back to his own youth and the recognizable 3 characteristics of this Rotterdam street urchin: humor, joie de vivre and perseverance.

Remembrance Rein

Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Rein at the beginning of 2018. His great wish was that the Pallieter Foundation would continue to exist. He did not want to abandon "his" children. We would like to continue Rein's legacy, out of respect for everything he has meant but certainly also for our target group that desperately needs our support. With Rein, Pallieter had the best sponsor recruiter. Someone with passion for our target group who got everything done - with support from his large network - as long as he believed in it. We continue his fantastic work with much love and pleasure which is only possible with the help of sponsors and volunteers. Because without money we cannot support projects and without hands we cannot organize events.

Band with Sizo

Sizo has been our sponsor with Pallieter car lettering for many years. Whether it's a Volkswagen Polo, an old T2 van or a 1950 Beetle, Sizo has always provided an appropriate look. Important for the recognition of our foundation for (potential) sponsors, volunteers and our target group.

Together we can bring more joy of life to seriously ill and disabled children. What is more beautiful than a child's smile?
